Magna International Appoints Altus Oil & Gas Malaysia as Authorised Distributor and Exclusive Strategic Partner for Mothballing oil and gas equipment.

Magna is pleased to announce the appointment of Altus Oil & Gas Malaysia Sdn Bhd as their authorized distributor for VapproVBCIs, their Multi Awards Winning Product and as exclusive strategic partner for mothballing oil and gas equipment in Malaysia. The virtual signing ceremony was held on 26th August 2021 between Dr Nelson Cheng, President/CEO of the Magna Group and Mr. Taufik Othman, Managing Director of Altus Oil & Gas Malaysia.

Under the terms of the agreement, Altus will be the authorized distributor of Magna’s award winningVBCI Products and exclusive strategic partner for mothballing oil and gas equipment in Malaysia.

Magna International Publishes Research Inactivation of Enveloped Viruses with Legionella-X Range of Disinfectants

Vappro Corrosion Control Australia is pleased to present a paper, published by Dr. Nelson Cheng, from our partner, Magna International Pte Ltd, on inactivation of Enveloped Viruses with Legionella-X Range of Disinfectants.  In November 2002 the Severe acute respiratory syndrome induced by coronavirus (SARS-CoV) was first identified in China. It caused a global outbreak with 8,098 probable cases including 774 deaths. World Health Organization (WHO) reviewed the comprehensive protocol for cleaning and disinfection of hospitals and other settings after the occupation of people with Severe acute respiratory syndrome. In view of the above, the Legionella-X range of disinfectants was developed to combat the Enveloped Viruses such as Coronavirus and Influenza Viruses. Legionella-X disinfectant contains synergistic chemical composition to inactivate enveloped viruses by denaturation of the protein of Coronaviruses and Influenza Viruses (H5N1). This article covers the synergistic chemical used and the mechanism involved inactivating these viruses. Complete formulation with blending procedures and the inactivating efficacy of an Enveloped Virus using H5N1 are also furnished in this article.

Vappro VBCI-LTC is a solvent-based acrylic coating specially developed to provide long term protection for equipment in desalination plants against corrosion. Vappro VBCI-LTC is fortified with Vappro VBCI inhibitors that provide both contact and vapour phase corrosion inhibition. It is a fast-drying coating works through a solvent-cut back mechanism, once it is dry the coating is resistant to moisture, temperature and corrosive elements attack, making it extremely useful to combat corrosion in desalination and refinery plants.
